We made it to our second peak. Little Mountain. It was the last Mountain the pioneers came over as they entered the valley. Our trek took us about 5 miles round trip. The kids were amazing. We started in the late afternoon and it was just after bed time when we got back to the car. If you were able to do this hike a couple weeks after we did, there would probably be millions of balsm root. We could see the start of the plants, but no flowers yet, I guess it has been a late spring.
This is Hannah checking out the horny toad Mike caught while she was on his shoulders. Now that takes talent. Not to mention the fact that he even saw the little guy. He is the exact same color as his surroundings and tiny. Clara thought it was pretty cool too and Luke just tried to maul the little guy.
Unfortunately no picture from the top, the camera battery died. Oops. Next peak on the list, dum dum da MT. GRANDEUR!
