Red Pine

We were hoping to do a little backpack trip with the kiddos over the holiday weekend, but things didn't work out in favor of an overnighter. We got to spend the day at Red Pine Lake instead. Pat and Kathy helped us get the kids there. We had such a great time.

Hannah loved walking, especially with grandma and grandpa. She really loved a song grandma sang and now is "Heartless Hannah the Hottest Babe in town."

Hannah and Grandpa throwing rocks in the lake while dad and Clara went up to the ridge.

Mike being a good sport while we decorated him with reeds.

Luke decided not to nap in the tent Mike so generously brought up for he and Hannah to sleep in, but was super cute and played with me while Hannah napped. He did sleep in it later while we all cooked and ate dinner. It was so nice to have. Mike gets major points for carrying a big pack with a tent, sleeping bag, stove, water filter and food and usually a girl on his shoulders. It made it feel like a mini camping trip.

Kathy and Clara enjoying the lake.

Hannah found this tiny worm while Clara and Pat combed the mine for lost treasures. I didn't get a picture of the "jewel" they found. Hannah tried pulling her worm into two pieces, which started the debate...do earthworms regenerate if cut in two? Well according to Mike's research, it depends on the type of earthworm. Majority will not make two new earthworms, but it won't completely die either. One half will most likely survive.

Lunch.

Mike and Pat carrying the girls down the trail. It was a great day. Thanks again for the help.
