Crater Lake

Mike has to work next week, so we are trying to take advantage of his free time.  We are feeling more settled and ready to see what's near by.  We decided to take a trip to Crater Lake, and last minute threw in the camping gear and decided to stay the night.  It truly is the bluest lake I've ever seen!  Gorgeous!!!

The kids had fun being pirates and spotting the Phantom Ship,

playing Harry Potter and checking out Wizard Island from afar.  We are going to have to make a return trip to visit the island.  There is only one accessible beach with tour boats leaving twice a day and they don't recommend taking infants (Charlotte apparently still falls into this category).

We did make it to the top of Watchman Peak, Sun Notch,

and did a great hike on the rim trail, although Mike kept giving me a hard time about scaring the kids about falling.  You should see some of the trail!

We also stopped by Vidae Falls and played around for a while.   There are many more hikes we are excited to do there and it's only about 90 min away.

On the way home someone had recommended National Waterfall.  We decided to check it out.  It was worth the trip.  A magnificent cascade and a very short hike, only about a mile round trip.
 Soaking in the mist.

Don't tell her she's still an infant.

Just because fungi are cool.

Am I convincing you to come visit yet?  We are planning another trip to the coast later this week, we'll post pictures to entice you.
