In Japan every year the blooming of the cherry blossoms is celebrated. Their transience creates a urgency to enjoy life. We were blessed this year with a convergence of time off from work and school, sunshine, and cherry blossoms. The top tree was actually in a McDonald's parking lot.
We were fortunate to have Heidi's sister join us on our trip. We made a trek out to the Pacific.
Clara has learned to substitue sand for snow.
The Japanese garden in Portland brought back many fond memories of Japan.
Our timing was also just right for tulips. One day I hope to see the tulips in Holland. I imagine this was the next best thing.
